Women of the land, women of the periphery: a critical ethnography of peasant resistance and the struggle against violence

This research, through ethnography conducted in the Milpa Alta borough of Mexico City with peasant women, analyzes the alternatives constructed by the collective Women of the Earth, Women of the Periphery. From feminist theory and decolonial feminism, it identifies how sorority functions as resistance against gender violence and as a path toward economic autonomy. It contributes by making visible a space where women strengthen their self-esteem, skills, and leadership, transforming their relationships and their economy. Its originality and value lie in revealing the specific oppressions faced by peripheral women and how, through collective practices and critical consciousness, they re-signify femininity toward emancipatory processes and social transformation.Downloads
