From discourse to practice: A critical analysis of the Age-Friendly Cities Project in Mexico.

This research is part of the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Initiative, promoted by the WHO, which seeks to promote inclusive environments for all ages. This study analyzes experiences in Mexico, highlighting improvements in the pillars of this initiative. It is found that challenges persist, such as gaps between program planning and implementation, as well as the territorial inequality in access to this initiative. It is concluded that a rights and care perspective must be incorporated into the planning of age-friendly cities to improve the quality of life of older people.
